Rev Rooms Rev Up Expansion

Rev Rooms, the game audio development specialists, continue to grow with two new additions to its team. Rev Rooms, based in Brighton, have been involved in titles including Detonation Racing, The Cycle, Warped Kart Racing and Forza Street.

Brent Op de Beeck has joined the team to design and code audio systems to make implementation in games easier for designers. These audio systems range from ambience to interactive music. Brent started his career as a DAE Game Development student at Howest in Kortrijk, Belgium, where he graduated with a focus on Graphics Programming. He used that knowledge to finish his education with a Master's degree in Game Technologies focused on Real-time Raytracing, at BUAS, the Netherlands.

Op de Beeck worked at Bulkhead Interactive on multiple FPS titles, first as a generalist, and later as their dedicated audio programmer. At Rev Rooms, Brent is considered the odd one out because he doesn't play any instruments however; he does enjoy a good party with live music, especially when there's Belgian beer in stock.

Kerry Turner is a programmer with over a decade of experience that she brings to Rev Rooms. She's familiar with Unity, Unreal, and other in-house engines and is particularly knowledgeable about audio, graphics, gameplay, and performance. Turner has spoken at conferences all over the world and lectured at degree level.

She started her games career at BAFTA-winning studio Littleloud, and went on to work for studios including Failbetter Games, Mediatonic, and MAG Interactive. Turner worked for Unity for several years, providing technical training and best practice guidance and has worked on everything from small indie games to AAA titles, across all major platforms.

Turner is very involved in Brighton's local games community, where she runs events and acts as a mentor. Outside of work, she makes short, strange games and lo-fi electronic music.

Gavin Shepherd, co-owner of Rev Rooms said “I am excited to welcome both Brent and Kerry to Rev Rooms. They bring with them a wealth of experience and skills to help us to continue to grow.”
